Ralph Miller – Los Angeles, California

President of Los Angeles County Probation Officers Local 685 (Council 36), Miller was elected to serve as an International Vice President (Western District) in 2012. A Juvenile Probation Officer, Miller had been a former professional football player on several NFL teams. He began his trade union career as a founding member of the NFL players union, serving as a player representative. In 1976 he joined the Los Angeles County Probation Department and three months later became a Steward of Local 685. He was first elected to the local’s Executive Board in 1978 and became President in 1997.
