Processes, inputs, reconciles and analyzes a variety of financial and accounting transactions and information ranging from simple to complex according to Union and department policies and procedures.  Uses Every Action, spreadsheets, and word processing software to perform required tasks.  Prepares and works with complex worksheets that are developed from source documents and accounting data for ingestion into the Every Action System.  Creates schedules, reports and analyses for review by supervisory staff.  Communicates with affiliates and staff by telephone and email. Maintains records, logs, and files of transactions and activities.


The primary duties of the PAC Accountant is creating reports from source documents for ingestion into the Every Action system.  The PAC Accountant will work closely with the Every Action Data Coordinator to assist in cleansing data for data processing in accordance to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Uses Excel to cleanse data for ingestion.
  • Scans paper source documents and coverts to Excel.
  • Maintains tracking spreadsheets of Every Action batches.
  • Data entry of Every Action batches.
  • Files paper and electronic files according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Updates progress of batch data work into Jira.
  • Works with clerks and affiliates to acquire member and affiliate level backup for reconciliation with guidance from the Pac Systems Manager.
  • Provides guidance to PAC Service Clerk on batch data entry.
  • Answers phones regarding People Backup and directs to appropriate staff person.
  • Other data entry as assigned into other Data and Analytics Department systems.
  • Conduct member and affiliate lookup in the Enterprise System.
  • Provides phone backup to the Membership Services team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education and Experience

Graduation from High School or accredited four-year college or university and a minimum of four (4) years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the following knowledge, skills and abilities:


  • Proficiency in Excel and Word.
  • Has demonstrated a high degree of organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with a personal computer and 10-key calculator.
  • Experience with AFSCME Every Action, Enterprise and other Data & Analytics Department database systems.
  • This position requires heavy data entry.
  • Works well in a team environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines.
  • Periodic overtime is required.
