Affiliations with AFSCME

WHEREAS:

AFSCME began as a state employee association in Wisconsin; and

WHEREAS:

AFSCME is now the largest public employee union in the United States of America; and

WHEREAS:

In recent years, a number of employee associations and independent unions have chosen to affiliate with AFSCME; and

WHEREAS:

Both AFSCME and the respective organizations benefit from affiliations by joining together to increase their influence at all levels of government and also increase the level of service to their members.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That AFSCME continue to strengthen our relationships with our current affiliates; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED:

That the International Union continue to encourage associations and independent unions to join the "House of AFSCME, AFL-CIO".
