Equality Training in our School System

WHEREAS:

The cultural and socialization processes in the public school system instill a value network for female and male interaction; and

WHEREAS:

Equality and equal opportunity of the sexes are of high priority; and

WHEREAS:

Programs of professional organizations developed for public school systems sometimes separate the sexes (example: Badger Boys State/Badger Girls State) and thereby do not allow positive interaction between males and females.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That AFSCME recommend to professional organizations that public school programs integrate female and males and sponsor combined programs to enhance and strengthen equality and equal opportunity.
