An End to Bush-league Governing

Resolution No. 74
30th International Convention
June 15-19, 1992
Las Vegas, NV

WHEREAS:

Since 1980 America has experimented with trickle-down economics and shut-down, pass-along government; and

WHEREAS:

This 12-year economic experiment has made the rich super-rich, the middle poor, and the poor destitute; and

WHEREAS:

This 12-year pass-along government experiment has created monstrous federal deficits and a crushing load of state and local government services to be delivered without the personnel resources to deliver them; and

WHEREAS:

Twelve years of these Bush-Reagan "experiments" are more than enough.

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED:

That AFSCME International urges all councils, locals, and members to dedicate their efforts between now and November to bring an end to this era of Bush-League government.
