Michael Connolly and Michael Boyce Hundreds of retiree members applauded as Michael Connolly (left), president of Rhode Island Retiree Chapter 94, presented the John H. Slavan Award to longtime labor activist Michael Boyce at a recent luncheon. Boyce is a former president of the chapter and is currently its municipal vice president. He is also a long-serving member of the Rhode Island Pension Board, where he has been a strong advocate for the retirement security of workers and retirees. The John H Slavan Award is presented annually to someone who has delivered outstanding service to labor and Rhode Island Retiree Chapter 94.
